universe, and it came right out of the movies. Love for me is defined almost
exclusively in terms of romantic love as defined by the films of my
childhood.
“The movies, other than family, were the major influence of my childhood. I
was in a very typical Midwestern, Methodist home with a lot of repression
and not much demonstrative expression of emotion. My escape was the darkened
theatre.”
The aging lothario also claims his childhood passion for movies heavily
influenced his taste in women.
He explained: “I think my fascination with blonds is directly connected to
the impact the platinum blonds had in the movies of the 1930s. Jean Harlow,
Alice Faye, all of those Busby Berkeley showgirls. You can't go wrong. Well,
you probably could, but what fun."
Hugh – who will give Kendra away when she marries Hank Baskett later this
year – also revealed one of the things he is most proud of is staying
friends with his exes.

“Brian Grazer, who is working on a movie about me, made a comment that I was

PATRICIA ARQUETTE has filed for divorce, putting an end to her two-year marriage to THE PUNISHER star THOMAS JANE. The actress cites "irreconcilable differences" for the split. She filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (05Jan08). The couple, who wed in June, 2006, have a five-year-old daughter together, called Harlow. Both have been married before - Arquette was wed to Nicolas Cage, while Jane was briefly married to Rutger Hauer's daughter Aysha in the late 1990s. He was also engaged to actress Olivia d'Abo. Arquette has hired top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent her, according to website TMZ.com.

The 'Iron Man' actress - who is married to Coldplay star Chris Martin - is
taking drastic measures to shift the excess pounds she gained over the
festive period.
In the most recent email from her GOOP.com website, Gwyneth wrote: "I need
to lose a few pounds of holiday excess. I will be suffering along with you
to kickstart my year a bit lighter - good luck to us all!
"You can detox easily and effectively while you continue to eat as long as
you are cutting out the foods and other substances that interfere with the
detoxification process."
According to reports, banned substances in Gwyneth's post-holiday diet
include: dairy, gluten, meat, shellfish, all processed food, fatty nuts,
potatoes and other related vegetables, condiments, sugar, alcohol, caffeine
or fizzy drinks.
However, the 36-year-old actress has warned anyone planning to detox to
seek medical advice before starting, adding: "As I do not wish to subsist on
lemon water in the middle of winter, I asked my doctor, a detox diet
specialist, for guidelines. Make sure you check with your doctor before you
start any detox. Drink A LOT of water."
